BOSTON, MA-The Boston Red Sox today acquired infielder/outfielder Eric Patterson from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for left-handed pitcher Fabian Williamson. Patterson is expected to join the team tomorrow in San Francisco. With the move, the Red Sox 40-man roster is now at 40.
